“I love this book – and plan on using it in at my own school. A must for any beginning jazz piano student!”
– Martin Bejerano, jazz pianist/composer and professor, Frost School of Music, University of Miami
“Jazz Piano Fundamentals creates a methodology and answers questions in a way that I have almost never seen done in a jazz educational tome. Jeremy breaks down the practice of improvisation to its smallest building blocks, and is careful to relate each lesson to real-life examples from the jazz canon….This book will be excellent for jazz beginners, players of other instruments who wish to bone up on their piano skills, and advanced improvisers may find ways to fill in gaps in their skill sets “
– Mark Shilansky, pianist/composer, professor, Berklee College of Music
“Jazz Piano Fundamentals is not only a perfect place to start this wonderful journey called Jazz Piano, it’s also also one to come back to… Thank you!!”
– Otmaro Ruiz, Grammy-nominated jazz pianist and professor, UCLA
“Jazz Piano Fundamentals is a reflection on who Jeremy is as a pianist – a true artist who has done his homework. Behind the meticulous attention to detail is a respect for jazz tradition and a desire to help pianists explore their own creativity.”
– Aimee Nolte, jazz pianist/vocalist and YouTube Star

This is a truly amazing collection of lessons. Not only has it helped me as a saxophone player, more importantly, it is made me a better teacher of jazz piano to my students and my high school jazz ensembles and is also given me an amazing wealth of ideas to develop into classroom lessons. Incredibly well thought out, placed and sequenced. Unlike many other books that I’ve seen before, these are very accessible right from the beginning and also benefit from working. The students growth from numerous angles at the same time. Highly, highly recommended.

I am an adult beginner with aspirations to play Jazz piano. I started my musical journey over 10 years ago learning to play flute, and eventually jazz flute. About a year ago I started learning to play the piano with a goal to learn jazz piano. At that time, I starting searching for a book that could help me progress in jazz piano. I was excited to find these books that offer a well structured, comprehensive approach to learning jazz piano. I wish I had found a similar resource tailored to the flute. I really like the way the fundamental concepts are broken into concise focused units of study that includes some theory, practice improvisation exercises, and guided listening to recordings of great jazz players. These books go perfectly with learning to play some of my favorite jazz tunes.
