First “Perpetual Motion Etudes” Review
The first review of my “Perpetual Motion Etudes” album is from infodad.com(yep, apparently this is a legit site that reviews music). Infodad gave it 3 out of 4 stars and wrote:
“Siskind is a very fine pianist and a strong advocate for his own music.
The pieces on this disc are… akin to miniature tone poems, each deploying the piano in the service of three-and-a-half to six minutes of expressive portraiture. Siskind brings them to life through his committed performances, with the result that the CD will be a particular pleasure for those interested in Siskind as pianist.”
Perpetual Motion Etudes officially released March 30th, 2020
I don’t know about you, but I’m starting to get excited about the official release of the Perpetual Motion Etudes book and CD. Here’s a teaser video with all the info for the release:

So. Much. Going. On.
There’s an awful lot of good stuff happening!
I just returned from a week-long trip in Kansas and Missouri. It was huge! I performed all 9 of my Perpetual Motion Etudes twice with students and faculty from University of Central Missouri and University of Kansas. I also got to do a jazz recital at KU, a house concert in Kansas City, 3 pedagogy presentations, a talk to the Kansas City Music Teachers Association, a jazz masterclass, and so much more!
Next up is a week with vocalist Lauren Kinhan, best known for her work with the New York Voices (but who also has had a stellar solo recording output). We’ll be performing all around the Pacific Northwest, mostly as part of Nich Anderson’s amazing JazzVox series. Check the calendar for more details.
In November, the main event is a Portugal-Spain tour with saxophonist Andrew Rathbun. We’ll be playing his Juno-nominated music from Atwood Suites as well as our own Debussy Improvisations.
Keep your eyes peeled for announcements of exciting concerts and collaborations in the Spring – I’ve got some fun things in the works!
Perpetual Motion Etudes Book & Recording – My Dream Project is Live!
Since then, I’ve spent hundreds of hours composing, practicing, editing, and recording nine outlandish new solo piano pieces, my Perpetual Motion Etudes.

Summer dates are UP!
I just added a slew of summer dates to the calendar, including teaching in Cyprus and Lebanon, a weekend of food + music magic with Tom Terrell in Long Beach, Debussy meets jazz in Chicago, and recording a Youtube video with Aimee Nolte in Santa Monica.
Check out all the new gigs on my calendar!
